Blog about Barbet Yatzie & Moët

My life with the French waterdogs Yatzie born 2007 and her daughter Moët born 2011. Barbets are purebred, active, relaxed and allergy friendly dogs with a soft and loving spirit. I am Swedish but live with my dogs in Holland. I hope you will enjoy the blog! Enlarge the photos by clicking on them.

Here some close-up photos of the three puppies 7 months old: Bink, Amaro and Lizzie.

Moët's puppies are now around 7 months old and it was time for the siblings to meet again and have fun together. 3 of the puppies were able to join this time: Amaro, Bink and Lizzie and then we also got to see Luna that stays with Lizzie! It was a lovely sunny day, and we met up in Viannen, where the dogs could swim as well as run in the grass fields. They and we had  agreat time as you can see from the photos. In Vianen both cows and horses walk free so that was a good moment for training for the little ones.

Loving the waters!

Hero of the day - Emilie! She found the ball that sunk in the waters!

Just push a coin in and you can wash your dog easily in this Dogwash system at a dog shop in the neighbourhood! The shampoo comes out together with the water, as well as the conditioner, and when the washing is done you can dry your dog with an air flow. I found it such an excellent idea and was curious so I tried it on both dogs. I must say it was easy but the shampoo was too diluted for my long haired dogs. Next time I will bring my own shampoo and conditioner. The fact that one does not need to clean up the bathroom after the washing is great!

It was a lovely sunny evening and I got these nice simole shots of Moët in her glowing fur!

"I think I will stay in bed a little longer... Three pillows is just what I need to sleep in well! See you later!"

Today we enjoyed the company of our two barbets Yeye and Elvi that are living in a guest family. They are both a lot more energetic in the house than Yatzie and Moët and bring us a lot of joy with their jumping around us looking for attention or playing with each other! But it is also possible to steal a kiss and hug once in a while! Elvi will turn 8 months this week and Yeye is now 2 years and 3 months old.

This foam appears on the beach here in Holland at certain weather circumstances. The dogs find it funny and like to run around in it. It sticks on fur - and on shoes! We had a lovely Pentecost walk on the beach in Scheveningen and finnished with a High Tea in the old and famous Kurhouse hotel. Dogs warmly welcome!

Despite the heat we made a little trip to the picturesque village Vreeswijk where we had a cooling ice cream. Yatzie got to share with grandma!

The weekend with my parents was so hot that they preferred to just sit and relaxed the in shade all day. We had time to cuddle a lot with the dogs and enjoy nice dinners all together.

My parents from Sweden arrived today and will stay for a few days. For Yatzie, who grew up near them in Danderyd, they are really grandma and grandpa, and she gets totally excited when she sees them. Moët is still a little bit shy but they are slowly working their way into her heart too.

What could be bettersuited for our dear Amaro to cool down than a German beer Amaro?

This weekend we put the most amazing huge, fresh sea crab on the Red Egg barbecue at our friend's house! Moët was very curious as to what this creature was and found it smelling intriguing. So she and Yatzie got to taste a little and they loved it! I was not surprised - it was delicious!

Vera in Denmark had a very successful first exhibition. She got fantastic critique and won Best puppy of the breed! This is what the judge said about her: Very promising puppy, excellent female expression, promising head, good nose, enough body volume, very good movements, great fur, correct angulations, super temperament. Congratulations to her and her owner Tanja Lørup! We are very proud!
