Blog about Barbet Yatzie & Moët

My life with the French waterdogs Yatzie born 2007 and her daughter Moët born 2011. Barbets are purebred, active, relaxed and allergy friendly dogs with a soft and loving spirit. I am Swedish but live with my dogs in Holland. I hope you will enjoy the blog! Enlarge the photos by clicking on them.

The whole family had a lovely day on the beach this weekend. Yatzie and Moët are so happy there, playing and chasing each other and retrieving from the water. In this movie Yatzie is luring on Moët, when she is approaching after having been away to take a dip in the sea, and when she comes close she attacks!

In this family we are never short of kisses!

This is how relaxed barbets are - they are just so happy to come along everywhere, and when there is nothing going on they just lie down until it is time for action again. Today we were having the car served!

What could be a sweeter way to start your 13th birthday than with a kiss from darling Moët! Congratulations to our teener darling Margot!

Last night we celebrated Margot's 13th birthday, eating at her favourite restaurant in Utrecht (Spareribs at Broadway!) and we made this lovely photo of the kids and the doggies! They came along as always! That is what is so nice with Holland - dogs are welcome everywhere, admired (of course!) and offered water. Sometimes there are also cats walking around in the restaurants - I guess they keep the place clean from rats ;-) !!!

Yatzie loves to sleep on our bed. In the evenings when we are going to sleep she very politely asks if she may jump up, by putting her head on the bedside or by making a sweet noise. Very often her good manners, and the fact that we love to have her near us, result in a "Varsågod" (kind of "You are allowed" in Swedish) and she happily jumps up. Here she is all wrapped up in our bedspread!

Our neighbours have one of those robot hoovers, that does your cleaning up all by itself. It is a great machine but for Yatzie and Moët is was a very scary monster making stranage sounds and not responding to their barking at all! So funny to see their reaction... Our neighbours also have a dog but he and the hoover are now friends!
